Delivery

Meals are delivered between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and is available Monday through Friday (excluding statutory holidays). For your safety, volunteers cannot leave meals outside your door if you are not home.

Client responsibilities

• Commit to a minimum order of five deliveries upon starting the program
• Be home for delivery between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
• Give notice of intent to cancel a meal before noon of the previous business day.

Meal types

Hot Meals include soup & crackers, an entree and a dessert. Meals follow a 4-week menu plan. The following diet choices are available:

1. Regular
2. Low Sugar
3. Soft (minced)
4. Vegetarian, Poultry and Fish

Frozen Entrees may be ordered if you want extra meals for evening, weekend or statutory holidays. Frozen entrees also follow a 4-week menu plan, and are available Monday through Friday.

Sandwich Packs (sandwich & fresh fruit) are available in addition to a meal order.

Prices

$5.75 per Hot Meal
$2.75 per Sandwich Pack
$4.75 per Frozen Entree

Invoices are mailed to clients or to a third party at the end of each month. Payment can be made by cheque (payable to "Health and Home Care Society of BC"), money order, Visa, Mastercard or in person at our office (exact payment only please - no change provided).

Other notes

• Please rinse meal trays and return them to our volunteers on their next visit so we can recycle them.
• If you plan to eat your Hot Meal later in the day, please put it in the refrigerator right away. Reheat in a conventional oven at 350 F, or in a toaster oven at 325 F for 15-20 minutes. To microwave, remove top foil and cover the dinner tray with paper towel.
