Our Prostate Health/Prostate Cancer Clinics provide people with knowledge to help them lower their risk of prostate cancer. Our registered nurses will educate your staff or clients on cancer risk factors and symptoms, ways to reduce risk, and community resources to help them.
Facts about prostate cancer:
- Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer in men, followed by Lung Cancer.
- An estimated 20,200 cases of prostate cancer were diagnosed in Canadian men in 2005.
- The chances of developing prostate cancer increase as a man ages. Prostate cancer is uncommon in men below the age of 50, but early cases do occur occasionally.
Signs and symptoms of possible prostate cancer:
- Problems urinating
- More frequent urination
- Urgency of urination
- Painful or burning urination
- Blood in urine
- Deep pain in the lower back, abdomen, hip or pelvis
- Painful ejaculation
