Zika was getting a lot of attention in the run up to the recent Olympics in Rio; I've now heard of cases being reported in the southern United States. Should we be concerned that it will continue to spread north?
According to the BC Centre for Disease Control, Zika virus is considered a travel-related infection for people living in BC. The mosquitoes that carry the Zika virus are not present in Canada so the risk of Zika virus circulating in British Columbia is very low.
