Assisted living residences allow people who do not need continuous medical aid to live independently with minimal support or supervision but may include the administration or supervision of medication, and some personal care services by trained staff. Long-term care provides care and services for people who can no longer look after their personal needs by themselves and includes the availability of 24-hour nursing care in a secure setting.
