Meals on Wheels Service Coordinator – Chinese Program
Full-time (37.50 hours per week) Monday to Friday position
Serving Meals on Wheels to the Vancouver and Richmond area, we are looking to compliment our team with enthusiastic, dedicated staff who wish to work in a not-for-profit organization giving back to our community.
Working independently and as part of a team, responsible as the first level of contact for intake of clients to the Chinese Meals on Wheels program. Supports the administrative and volunteer activities associated with the home delivery of hot meals to clients. Provide scheduling activities including take/change orders, order meals, schedule volunteers and troubleshoot problems and adjustments on a daily basis for approximately 175 volunteers and serving approximately 275 meals.
Services include enroll new clients to include promotion, explanation, appointment set up and to add/delete/change clients from the scheduling and ordering database. Proficient language skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese are very important to these positions to support clients and families.

Qualifications & Abilities:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in human resource management, social or community services, nutrition, gerontology, nursing or related discipline.
- 2 yrs experience working with seniors or in a social or community services setting or in volunteer management.
- Class 5 valid driver's license, safe driver's record and access to a vehicle during working hours required.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, public relations, problem solving and customer service skills required.
- Proven organizational, planning and coordinating skills.
- Ability to be self-directed and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
- Demonstrated competency in written and oral English.
- Demonstrated competency in written and oral Mandarin and Cantonese.
- Demonstrated computer skills that include, Word, Excel and database management.
- Availability for statutory holidays (Boxing Day & Easter Monday).
- Must provide proof of COVID vaccination status.
- Must provide consent for criminal record check and maintain satisfactory status during employment.
