VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION 2026

Care BC says THANK YOU to all our dedicated volunteers during National Volunteer Week. Without the support from our incredibly dedicated volunteer team, we could not continue to reach as many people as we do.

This year, Volunteer Canada’s theme, "Ignite Volunteerism", highlights the power, impact, and importance of both individual and collective volunteer efforts across Canada. Ignite Volunteerism is about inspiring Canadians to reconnect with their communities through acts of service, civic action, and mutual support.

We are proud to have over 360 volunteers supporting Care BC’s Meals on Wheels (MOW) programs: Western, Chinese, and North Shore. This year alone, our volunteers contributed more than 27,000 hours of service and delivered over 138,811 meals.

Day after day, Care BC’s dedicated volunteer team demonstrates the profound impact they have on individuals in our community. Our MOW volunteers, serving Vancouver, Richmond, and the North Shore, provide more than just a meal to elderly and homebound clients, they offer social connection and informal wellness checks, helping clients stay safe, nourished, and connected to their community, while also supporting their loved ones.

Thank YOU for being the spark that keeps volunteerism shining bright.
