General Information
Care BC launched one of Canada's first Chinese Meals on Wheels programs in 1996. We deliver hot, nutritious meals to seniors, caregivers, individuals with chronic or acute medical conditions, and/or people recovering from surgery, illness or injury. Meals are delivered by volunteers Monday to Friday between 10:30 am and 1 pm - our volunteers also provide a brief and informal safety check on clients with each delivery. There is no meal service on Statutory holidays.
Chinese MOW are prepared by Blue Ivy House, Vancouver. Meals cost $9.95 (effective April 1, 2024) and include either fish, pork, chicken or tofu, Chinese tonic soup, steamed rice, and do not contain MSG. All kitchens produce the same meals; the meal provider selected for each client is based on location.
