The Meals on Wheels (MOW) programs - both Western and Chinese - operate on weekdays, Monday through Friday.
PLEASE NOTE: There are no Meals on Wheels deliveries on Monday, May 18th (Victoria Day).

Care BC launched one of Canada's first Chinese Meals on Wheels programs in 1996. We deliver hot, nutritious meals to seniors, caregivers, individuals with chronic or acute medical conditions, and/or people recovering from surgery, illness or injury. Meals are delivered by dedicated volunteers Monday to Friday between 10:30 am and 1 pm. Our volunteers also provide a brief and informal wellness check on clients with each delivery. There is no meal service on Statutory holidays. Orders will not be automatically rescheduled, please reach out to us within one business day if you would like to reschedule a delivery.
Chinese MOW are prepared by Blue Ivy House, Vancouver. Meals cost $11.25 and include either fish, pork, chicken or tofu, Chinese tonic soup, steamed rice, and do not contain MSG. If you have any questions, please call the office:

Our Chinese MOW program offers a variety of choices to ensure we can provide meals everyone will enjoy. Menus follow a 4-week rotation to provide variety to our clients.

Invoices are mailed to clients or to a third party at the beginning of each month for the previous month's meals. You may submit payment for deliveries:
Please note - charges will appear on your credit card statement as "Health Home Care Soc BC” (not "Meals on Wheels").
Other notes:
• If you plan to eat your hot meal later in the day, please put it in the refrigerator right away.
• Our CMOW food containers are not microwavable.
• Our meal trays are now recyclable; you may dispose of them with your other household recycling.
Statutory holidays:
There is no meal delivery available on the following Statutory Holidays*. Please be sure to order yourself sufficient meals in advance!
January – New Year’s Day
February - Family Day
March/April – Good Friday
May – Victoria Day
July – Canada Day
August – BC Day
September – Labour Day
September - National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
October – Thanksgiving Day
November – Remembrance Day
December – Christmas Day & Boxing Day (except when Christmas Day and Boxing Day create a 4-day weekend. In that case, meals will be delivered on Boxing Day)
*Refer to your calendar for dates.
- A minimum order of 5 meals is required upon starting the program
- Be home to receive your delivery between 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. For the safety of the clients, volunteers cannot leave meals outside your door if you are not at home.
- Give notice of intent to cancel a meal one business day before the delivery.
- Clients are responsible for any meals that are not cancelled in sufficient time. If the client is away during the delivery window and we are unable to deliver, they will still be charged.

- By cheque (payable to "Health and Home Care Society of BC")
- By money order
- By credit card (Visa or Mastercard)
- E-transfer to [email protected] (Please include the Client's name in the subject)
- In person at our office (exact payment only please - no change provided)
