VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
|
The Health and Home Care Society of BC (Care BC) offers innovative and unique programs to support seniors, people living with disabilities or recovering from injuries and other homebound individuals at risk of isolation.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of Care BC’s work and without the commitment and dedication of a caring team of volunteers, our vital programs would not be possible. For as little as a few hours a week or month, you can help us make a real difference in your community! |
Meals on Wheels (MOW) Volunteers
Join Meals on Wheels and make a real difference, one delivery at a time. Volunteers provide isolated residents in Vancouver, Richmond and the North Shore, with hot meals, warm visits and informal checks on their safety every weekday through our MOW programs.

Western Meals on Wheels Delivery Driver
We are looking for compassionate drivers to deliver nutritious meals, a friendly hello, and a brief wellness check to seniors and homebound neighbors, helping them stay safe, nourished and connected to their community. Drivers pick meals from a depot of their choice and then deliver hot meals directly to our clients. A route only takes 2 hours or less! Mileage Reimbursement is available. Shifts: Flexible; Monday-Friday, between 10:30am and 1:00pm |

Meals on Wheels Delivery on Bike
As an organization, we pride ourselves on evolving with the needs of our community. To better serve our local community, we have a Meals on Bikes program available to our volunteers. By using bicycles instead of driving, we are reducing our gas emissions and as a result, reducing our environmental footprint. Biking is also better for the health of our volunteers. We are promoting good health and good fitness by adding this as an option for our servers. Bike volunteers pick up meals from a depot then deliver hot meals directly to clients, providing a friendly visit and informal check on their safety. We can offer support & advice for setting up your bike for deliveries. Shifts: Flexible; Monday-Friday, between 10:30am and 1:00pm |

Kitchen Meal Courier
We are looking for drivers to deliver meals from our kitchen in Richmond to a depot of their choice in the Vancouver or Richmond area, and then return the previous day’s empty meal bags back to the kitchen. Drivers may also be asked to help pack sealed meals into delivery bags at the kitchen. Mileage Reimbursement is available. Shifts: Flexible; Monday-Friday, between 9:00am and 11:00am |

Chinese Meals on Wheels Delivery Driver
We are looking for compassionate drivers to deliver nutritious meals, a friendly hello, and a brief wellness check to seniors and homebound neighbors, helping them stay safe, nourished and connected to their community. While not required, the ability to speak Mandarin and Cantonese is highly valued, as it helps us better accommodate the needs of our client base. Drivers pick meals from a depot in Vancouver or Richmond and then deliver the hot meals directly to our clients. A route only takes 2 hours! Mileage Reimbursement is available. Shifts: Flexible; Monday-Friday, between 10:00am and 1:00pm |
We are always looking for spare drivers and servers! Do you work shifts or have a constantly changing schedule (due to shift-work, changing school schedules, etc.)? We are happy to work with volunteers who prefer to be available to work shifts as needed.
