VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION 2024
Care BC says THANK YOU to all our dedicated volunteers during National Volunteer Week.
This year, Volunteer Canada’s theme "Every Moment Matters" underscores the importance of each volunteer and their contributions, particularly during times of heightened need. The sharing of time, skills, empathy, and creativity is crucial for fostering inclusivity and community well-being.
We couldn't agree more. Every year, Care BC relies on the dedicated support of almost 400 volunteers to sustain our essential programs for seniors, caregivers, and those vulnerable to isolation.
Our Meals on Wheels (MOW) volunteers across Vancouver, Richmond, and the North Shore, provide vital connections to elderly, frail, and homebound seniors. Beyond delivering nutritious meals, MOW volunteers conduct informal safety checks, offering reassurance and reminding our clients that they are valued members of the community. At the Family Respite Centre (FRC), our volunteers help create a home-like atmosphere for FRC guests receiving temporary care. We also extend our gratitude to our Office volunteers whose coordination ensures the smooth operation of these key services.
