Nurse (RN/RPN) - Family Respite Centre
Great team atmosphere, home-like setting providing services to clients and their families who are seeking respite care in the community. Clients are short-stay in our 12 bed overnight unit or attending our Adult Day Program. The Family Respite Centre is located in the Killarney area of Vancouver. Easy commute – bus stops in front of the building or there is free neighbourhood street parking.
We are seeking Nurses who enjoy working with frail seniors and their families. You work with a team of dedicated support staff who assist in nursing care and therapeutic recreation activities.
Casual positions available 7 am to 3 pm; 3 pm to 11 pm or 11 pm to 7 am. Positions covered by BCNU Master Collective Agreement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Due to COVID -19 protocols, you will be required to comply with all Medical Health Officer orders which includes restrictions to single site work (urban cluster), be fully vaccinated and adhere to all protocols regarding personal protective equipment and related training.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current, active registration with the BC provincial nursing regulatory body.
- Current first aid and CPR certification.
- 5 - 7 years nursing experience in community, medical, geriatric psychiatry or gerontology to include experience working with the physically and mentally frail elderly and their families.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and team leader.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and psychosocial skills with all cultures and groups.
- Demonstrated competency in English and communication skills.
- Demonstrated capacity for flexibility, initiative and innovation.
- Personal commitment to continuing education, professional accountability for practice, maintenance of knowledge base and skills in the area of practice are necessary attributes in the position of team leader.
