During National Volunteer Week 2022 (April 24-30), Care BC thanks all our volunteers who support our charitable programming for their dedication. This year's theme is "Volunteering Is Empathy in Action", which is especially true for our Meals on Wheels delivery volunteers.
With each meal delivered, our volunteers connect with elderly frail and homebound seniors across Vancouver, Richmond and the North Shore. This brief visit and informal safety-check reminds our clients that they are not alone; they have not been forgotten by the community.
We are also very grateful for the help we receive from volunteers at our Family Respite Centre, who assist the nursing staff team and socialize with the guests. (The Family Respite Centre has not operated under normal conditions throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, so we have needed less volunteer help recently)
