VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION

Without support from our incredibly dedicated volunteer team, we could not continue to reach as many people as we do. You help us weave the community together!

Picture
Care BC says “THANK YOU” to all our dedicated volunteers during National Volunteer Week. Volunteer Canada’s 2023 theme is Volunteering Weaves Us Together, celebrating individual and collective actions, creating a strong, interconnected, and vibrant community! #NVW2023 #WeavingUsTogether

We couldn’t agree more. Every weekday, our Meals on Wheels (MOW) volunteers across Vancouver, Richmond and the North Shore connect with elderly, frail and homebound seniors. With each nutritious meal delivery, our volunteers perform a brief, informal safety check on our clients. They deliver much more than just a meal – they remind our clients that they are not alone and have not been forgotten by the community.

We also thank our volunteers at the Family Respite Centre (FRC), which closed temporarily during the COVID pandemic, but has returned to operation with increased safety protocols. Our volunteers contribute to the home-like environment our FRC guests receiving temporary care enjoy during their stays.

Photos from our 2023 Annual Volunteer and Staff Appreciation Tea were taken by Mits Naga. To request a high-resolution version of any photo, please contact Kevin Yip ([email protected]).

We are also thrilled to be able to recognize our long-serving volunteers and staff members in person this year. Please see below for a list of all volunteers and staff who are celebrating a 5-year milestone anniversary in 2023.
