4th Annual Meals on Wheels Fundraising Dinner & Auction - Community Support Needed for Vancouver-Richmond Meals on Wheels
VANCOUVER, BC CANADA – On Thursday, February 16th at Kirin Restaurant, the Health and Home Care Society of BC (Care BC) will be hosting its 4th Annual Meals on Wheels Fundraising Dinner and Auction.
The event, sponsored by Omni Television, features a delicious 10-course Chinese banquet-style menu, exciting silent and live auction hosted by Chef Marcus VonAlbrecht, as well as raffle prizes. The evening promises a mix of philanthropy and fun, with all proceeds supporting Meals on Wheels in Vancouver and Richmond.
Each year, Meals on Wheels helps keep hundreds of Vancouver and Richmond seniors healthy and independent in the comfort of their own homes. 62% of these individuals live alone, with 70% of clients over the age of 70 and 50% of clients over the age of 80. In 2010 alone, 100,119 meals were served in Vancouver and Richmond, and this need continues to grow. With your support, Care BC can continue to positively impact the lives of many in our community.
Last year's dinner and auction raised approximately $20,000 for Western and Chinese Meals on Wheels. Care BC is seeking sponsorship and auction donations to make the 4th Annual Meals on Wheels Dinner and Auction a success and ultimately, to help sustain these vital programs.
For more information on sponsorship opportunities, to make an auction donation, or to reserve your table, please contact Care BC at 604.733.6614 or visit their website at www.carebc.ca/events.
