For immediate release November 15, 2013 In-Home Flu Immunizations for Seniors - Pharmacy BC Retains the Services of Care BC Registered Nurses VANCOUVER, BC CANADA – On Monday November 18th the Health and Home Care Society of BC (Care BC) will be delivering In-Home Flu Immunizations for Pharmacy BC weekly clients. Care BC operates a social enterprise Health Promotion Services (HPS) which employs Registered Nurses throughout British Columbia to give flu immunizations within the workplace. The revenue from HPS helps to support Western & Chinese Meals on Wheels in Vancouver and Richmond. Care BC is the premier choice for workplace flu clinics and follows all Canadian health and safety standards. This fall HPS nurses are being invited to administer In-Home flu immunizations to Pharmacy BC clients. Pharmacy BC operates a select group of The Medicine Shoppe locations throughout the lower mainland. They offer prescription delivery, witnessed daily ingestion of medications, diabetic programs and other in-home services. Pharmacy BC clients may not be able to travel to a flu clinic at a pharmacy and for this reason Care BC’s services have been retained for the In-Home Immunization day.
On November 18th Care BC’s Wendy Williams, Nurse Manager will be providing one of two seasonal flu vaccines: Fluviral, a standard dose and Fluad a higher strength for people over 80 years of age. For more information on workplace flu clinics, please visit carebc.ca or contact Wendy Williams at 604-711-9177 ext.111 or via e-mail at [email protected].
