Inaugural Meals on Wheels Golf Classic Tees Off - Proceeds Support Meals on Wheels, Vancouver - Richmond
VANCOUVER, BC CANADA – Teeing off Monday, September 19th at the University Golf Club, the Health and Home Care Society of BC (Care BC) will be hosting its first ever Meals on Wheels Golf Classic in support of Meals on Wheels, Vancouver and Richmond.
The inaugural tournament which includes a light lunch, followed by a barbecue buffet and a fantastic silent auction, is sponsored by City TV and Omni. Southside Nissan has generously donated a 2012 Nissan Versa as the hole-in-one prize for the tournament, and sponsors include Ferrari Masserati, Lee Turner & Associates, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Stantec.
With the high cost of fuel, the program is facing additional strain in maintaining the same level of quality for this vital service. In a bid to avoid passing on these additional expenses to clients, Care BC is seeking the support of the community to make the inaugural Meals on Wheels Golf Classic a success.

Meals on Wheels
Operated by Care BC, Meals on Wheels has been delivering hot, nutritious meals and social interaction to isolated Vancouver and Richmond residents since 1967. In 1996, Care BC launched the first ever Chinese Meals on Wheels program in Canada, and the province’s first Meals on Bikes program in 2007. In 2010 alone, 100,119 meals were served in Vancouver and Richmond, and this need continues to grow.
The Health and Home Care Society of BC is an independent and BC-based not-for-profit organization. Since 1898, we have taken care of British Columbians through healthcare initiatives tailored to the communities we serve.
